Organic Fertilizers, Greenhouse Gases GHG Accounting & Climate Targets. Synthetic fertilizers are a major source of nitrous oxide (N₂O) is one of the most potent greenhouse gases. Organic fertilizers help reduce these emissions by releasing nutrients slowly, improving nitrogen-use efficiency, and increasing soil carbon. GHG Accounting: Lower N₂O emissions and improved soil carbon stocks support reductions under AFOLU and Scope 3 (agricultural supply chain) emissions. NDC Alignment: Promotes climate-smart agriculture and supports national commitments on emissions reduction, soil health and climate resilience. ESG Impact: Strengthens Environmantal Social Governmace (Environmental) performance through reduced emissions, healthier soils and sustainable input use while supporting farmer livelihoods. Organic fertilizers are a measurable climate solution cutting emissions while building resilient food systems.
